Organic Cotton
KAMPOS’ women and men collection is made from organic cotton and 100% recycled plastic bottles in the production steps. All the pieces are 100% made in Italy. KAMPOS uses organic cotton from producers who don't use any toxic and pesticides and synthetic fertilisers. KAMPOS uses Newlife™, which is a unique, complete and certified system of recycled polyester filament yarns coming 100% from postconsumer bottles sourced, processed into a polymer through a mechanical process (not chemical) and spun into yarn completely in Italy. The production process is divided in 4 simple steps.
STEP 1
Empty PET bottles are collected and taken to the recycling process, which is carried out completely in Italy, in the Piedmont region.
STEP 2
The organic cotton is handled with care by our trusted artisans in Italy for the ginning process, that turns cotton bolls into fibres. In the meantime, PET bottles are separated by type and color. After quality control they are compressed into bales and stored before processing before processing.
STEP 3
Cotton fibres pass through the carding machine that separates the fibres to become yarn and then eventually be ready to be weaved or knitted. PET bottles are washed and mechanically ground, then converted into flakes to be transformed into the new polimer ready for the spinning stage. The polimer is extruted, span into Newlife™ yarn, which becomes the base for the unique textile we use.
STEP 4
Each product is then designed, produced and packed with obsessive attention to detail by our artisans in Northern Italy. There are no metal parts on our products, they have been replaced with wood and pearls. Each product is 100% sustainable and can be recycled again, infinitely.
