Sustainability
Our commitment
Sustainability is not just a fancy word to us! It's at the essence of our brand and culture. It's an everyday commitment we promise to our customers and our planet. We believe in creating a world with a conscience now and for future generations. KAMPOS is putting our obligation to be a sustainability leader into action in 4 ways:
- Zero-Plastic Policy: we do not use any single use plastics anywhere in our products or packaging.
- Conscious Design & Responsible Materials: our design raises awareness of over-fishing and marine pollution that is threatening the Mediterranean Sea and our planet. All products are made of recycled plastic bottles, abandoned fishing nets, or other recycled nylon and/or organic fabrics.
- Recyclable packaging: we use recycled materials for our consumer packaging. They are 100% recyclable and are FSC/PEFC certified.
- Marine ecosystem restoration: we are an official partner of the Coral Conservation Project, an initiative launched in 2009 by Planhotel Hospitality Group and the University of Milano-Bicocca. We actively support the conservation and restoration of coral reefs in the Maldives. We also sponsor other projects in the Maldives like turtles rescue and plastic collection activities.

Turtles rescue
Every day turtles are threatened by fishing nets and other plastic abandoned in the sea. Thousands of them accidentally swallow these plastics, mistaking them for their food. In some cases they also get trapped in plastic, preventing them to dive properly. This plastic can fill the stomach of the turtle, thus making less space for nutritious food and as a result cause the turtle to starve.
KAMPOS supports turtles rescue activities in the Maldives performed by biologists based in Athuruga and Thudufushi.
Plastic collection
Biodiversity identifies the richness of every type of life on our planet and its reference unit is constituted by the species, that is, a set of organisms capable of exchanging genetic material. Species live in relationship with each other and in constant balance to ensure optimal living conditions on Earth. It represents a fragile balance that is increasingly threatened by the presence and invasion of human activities and especially plastic thrown in the environment.
KAMPOS support several plastic collection activities in the Maldives.
